Auto repair shop closed for violation of standards

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) announced the closure of an auto repair shop in Al Gharrafa due to its failure to meet public and private requirements and its violation of the ministry circular regulating the activity of commercial car maintenance and repair shops in towns and in shopping streets.
This measure is part of the ministry’s efforts to monitor and regulate markets and business activities across Qatar, and to assess the degree of compliance with laws and regulations governing business activities, with the aim of uncovering and addressing violations.
The MoCI stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in terms of fulfilling the obligations stipulated in Law No. 5 of 2015 on
Public commercial, industrial and similar stores, and street vendors, and this would also not violate the circular regulating the activities of commercial car maintenance and repair shops in cities and on shopping streets, according to A press release.
The ministry assured that it intends to intensify its inspection campaigns to control the infringing practices. Any party that violates laws and ministerial rulings will be referred to the relevant authorities, who would respond appropriately against violators to protect the rights of consumers.
The MoCI urged all citizens and residents to report any violation or violation related to registration and business licenses, or non-compliance with prevention and precautionary measures, through the call center: 16001; Twitter: @MOCIQATAR; or Instagram: MOCIQATAR
